Brink
by Brock on Jan.27, 2010, under Games
I was talking with some friends over at Pants Party, and someone mentioned “have you seen Brink?, It looks amazing” now this happens a lot and I’m generally not that impressed in a game if someone needs to tell me it exists. So I waddle over to the games site and check out the videos and can honestly say that from the preview (link below) I am very impressed. That is of course providing they can pull off all the things they are aiming for and make the game a truly immersive experience.
First Person Tetris!

Anyone who has been around a couple of years will have played at least one version of Tetris. I happened upon this today and it made me feel sick but brought back memories or the original Tetris.
League of Legends
by Brock on Jan.03, 2010, under Games
Over the past four or five months I have come to be addicted to a free to play game called League of Legends.
The game is based on concept created as a modification for the popular game Warcraft 3, known as Defense of the Ancients (DotA).
Solid and addictive game play with a great metagame. The game has a lot of features that are yet to be implemented but are in the “coming soon” phase. Best of all its free!.. mostly. The game does have a store with a micro-transaction system where you can buy points with your hard earned cash and trade them in to unlock new champions, boosts and alternative skins for the champions. But the main parts of the game can all be earned without spending a cent.
The game has developed a good community (some parts bad and some good, but to be expected with a community of this type). I have been involved with the community somewhat since beta and am now following the emissary web casts.
The emissaries are a group of experienced players whom give advice to new players and do a little inside testing and provide feedback to the developers (as far as I’m aware). The first of these pod casts are by the most well known emissary Larias. Enjoy.
